Boundary slip phenomena in a binary gas mixture

The slip phenomena in gas mixtures are of fundamental significance in the specification of boundary conditions for flows in the slip regime. In a recent paper, new explicit results for the slip coefficients appropriate to binary gas mixtures were reported. The present work being reported extends the previous work to a higher level of accuracy by involving a higher order Chapman-Enskog expansion. In particular, new expressions for the slip coefficients are presented which are applicable for arbitrary models of the intermolecular interaction. Limiting expressions for the slip coefficients are given (for a simple gas) and the accuracy of the theory is discussed. Numerical calculations of the slip coefficients for different binary gas mixtures using the first and second order Chapman-Enskog approximations and the rigid sphere and Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential models have been carried out. The thermal creep and diffusion slip coefficients are found to be sensitive to the order of the approximation and to the potential model used. A comparison of the new higher order results with some of our previously obtained experimental data for the thermal transpiration effect has also been carried out and shows excellent agreement between the theory and the experiments which confirms the accuracy of the theory.     

Analysis of dispersion characteristics of groove guides with mode-matching method

Groove guide is widely recognized as one of the most promising millimeter wave transmission structures. In this paper, the mode-matching method is used to analyse the dispersion characteristics of single and asymmetrical double groove guides, and the unified formulae of Nth-order approximation dispersion equations are presented. Based on this analysis, a general program for calculating the dispersion characteristrics of single and asymmetrical double groove guides has been completed. Some comparisons between the results obtained by present method and published data show that very good agreement has been seen. The effectiveness and the reliability of the given formulae and program are thus verified.

电子直线加速器磁控管频率稳定的自适应线性神经元方法

 电子直线加速器电子束能量的稳定与否取决于功率源工作频率的稳定性,磁控管在短时间内的散谱和轻微跳谱造成稳频系统的控制精度下降,最后电子束的扫描均匀度下降。引入自适应线性神经元方法(ADALINE)和噪声对消技术以消除对工作频率长期稳定性的影响,从而保证了电子束的扫描均匀度。     

Charge plate technique in recoil study: Evidence for collection of recoil charged species from solid targets on metal electrodes

The occurrence of charge on recoil⁵⁶Mn produced by the (n,γ) reaction in polycrystalline potassium permanganate has been examined using the ‘charge plate technique’. From considerations of capture gamma ray decay schemes and internal conversion it appears that, in a condensed medium, the recoil atom develops charge after losing much of its initial kinetic energy which allows collection on charged electrodes. Preliminary findings were presented at the International Symposium on Radiochemistry and Radiation Chemistry, RC-41 BARC, Bombay, Feb. 4–6 (1991).

Formation of lead pyrophosphate glass and the role of anion disproportionation

Thermal, spectroscopic and electrical properties of lead pyrophosphate glass prepared by melt quenching have been examined. A model based on the structural disproportionation of the P₂O ₇ ⁴⁻ ions has been proposed and is shown to consistently explain all the observations. The equilibrium of various anionic species has been discussed on the basis of their electronegativities which are in turn related to their basicities. Global optimization design of quasi-optics fower combiner of solid-state millimeter wave resonator

This paper describes a global optimization design of quasi-optics power combiner of solid-state millimeterwave resonator. It is operated in the frequency range from 50 to 300 GHz using GaAs Gunn diodes. It is shown that sourcearrays containing N² (N=3,5,...2K+1, where k is positive integer) individual elements. It is very efficient power transfer of energy from the source-array to the fractional power of the fundamental beam mode etc.. The RF output power exceeded the sum of the individual diodes to be threefold to sevenfold. And this data is the global optimization solution.     

牙齿化石中由辐照产生的陷阱电子的热稳定性研究

本文对周口店北京猿人遗址的动物牙齿化石进行了辐照产生的陷阱捕获电子的热稳定性研究和釉质样品及牙质样品的热稳定性对比实验。得到釉质样品中g=2.0016 ESR峰的寿命为7.1×10⁶年(20℃)。说明了取该峰进行ESR年代测定的可信性和用釉质样品进行ESR年代测定的必要性。
